The Lagos State House of Assembly has praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his visit to 13-year-old Master Adebola, a boy with a reported case of a missing small intestine. During a plenary session, the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, commended the governor’s actions, highlighting them as a demonstration of a responsive and caring government.
Speaker Obasa acknowledged the importance of establishing a system to address challenges affecting institutions in the state effectively. He emphasized the need to uncover the root causes of the problem.
To address the issue comprehensively, the Speaker announced the formation of an ad hoc committee, with Majority Leader Noheem Adams appointed as the committee’s chairman. This committee will investigate the case and work towards finding a resolution.
Deputy Whip of the House, David Setonji, expressed gratitude to the Speaker for bringing attention to the matter and stressed the importance of examining the state’s healthcare sector. He noted that the House had taken practical steps to pass a law on organ harvesting, which plays a crucial role in the state’s progress.
Governor Sanwo-Olu had made an unscheduled visit to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital to visit Adebola Akin-Bright, who is receiving treatment. During his visit, the governor assured Adebola and his mother that the state government would take care of the boy’s medical needs, with a primary focus on his recovery and return to school.
