Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, has officially received his All Progressives Congress (APC) membership card from the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda. The presentation took place on Thursday at Christ College of Theology and Education, Pyal, during the APC’s E-Registration assessment visit to Langtang North.The event, described as a registration and unity rally, attracted party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and stakeholders from across Plateau State.
Prof. Nentawe explained that the exercise forms part of the APC’s ongoing digital transformation, aimed at strengthening internal democracy and maintaining credible membership records nationwide. He noted that Langtang North was selected as a focal point for the assessment exercise to highlight the party’s commitment to inclusiveness and grassroots engagement, particularly within the Tarok Nation.
Other notable attendees who received temporary APC membership cards included Plateau State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Ubandoma Laven, and Member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Langtang North-North Constituency, Hon. Abel Nansak Nimchak. In his remarks, Hon. Pirfa Tyem expressed gratitude to the APC National Chairman for choosing Langtang North and the Tarok Nation as a key location for the E-Registration exercise. He assured party members of his administration’s support and commitment to mobilizing citizens for full participation in the registration process.
Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, also addressed the rally, urging residents to actively engage in the ongoing APC E-Registration and Continuous Voter Registration (CVR). He highlighted the importance of obtaining valid National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as essential tools for sustaining Plateau State’s political influence at the national level.Governor Mutfwang further commended the Tarok Nation for their support during the 2023 general elections and called for unity, reconciliation, and renewed commitment among party members as preparations for future elections intensify.
A statement from the Office of the Executive Chairman, signed by Chief Press Secretary Kum Precious Yakubu, noted that the event also featured goodwill messages from the Secretary to the State Government, Architect Nanchang Samuel Jatau, Member of the House of Representatives for Langtang North/South Federal Constituency Hon. Vincent Venman, other party leaders, and representatives of traditional institutions. All speakers emphasized unity, grassroots mobilization, and active political participation.
The rally concluded with a call for all eligible citizens to complete APC E-Registration, revalidate existing memberships, obtain NINs and PVCs, and participate fully in the Continuous Voter Registration exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
