Residents of Langtang North Local Government Area in Plateau State have commended the Executive Chairman, Hon. Pirfa Tyem, for his developmental strides and people-oriented leadership in his first year in office.
Stakeholders who spoke with journalists on Friday described Hon. Tyem’s administration as one that prioritizes the welfare of citizens through projects in education, health, infrastructure, and rural development.
A resident from Pilgani community, Sarah Nanzing, said the council boss has demonstrated “people-centric governance” that reflects genuine concern for the needs of the people.
“We commend our council boss, Hon. Tyem, for his purposeful leadership in the past year. He has done a lot in education, health, and other key sectors, providing real dividends of democracy,” she said.
Another resident, Mr. Nansel Bali, highlighted Tyem’s achievements in rural infrastructure, including the drilling of boreholes across all 15 wards, ensuring access to safe drinking water. He added that more boreholes would be drilled during the dry season to guarantee year-round water supply.
On education, residents noted that the council had purchased and distributed over 1,000 JAMB forms to indigent students irrespective of political affiliation. Hon. Tyem also constructed new classroom blocks, supplied desks and chairs to schools, and renovated the education office complex, creating a more conducive environment for learning and administration.
In the health sector, the council chairman reportedly recruited ad-hoc staff to strengthen service delivery in primary healthcare centers.
To enhance governance and security, Tyem remodeled the local government secretariat, modernized office spaces, and procured 21 motorcycles to support mobility and quick response for security personnel and education officers.
Residents also lauded the revival of Ngapak FM Radio, which now operates with a permanent broadcasting license, amplifying the voices of Langtang North citizens across the region.
They called on the people of Langtang North to continue supporting Hon. Tyem’s administration, expressing confidence that his developmental agenda would further transform the local government in the years ahead.
