Man Apprehended for Theft of IBEDC Transformer Components

The Ogun State Police Command reported that its officers from the Owode Egba division arrested a suspected vandal named Adewole Adekunle on Friday.

The suspect, reportedly residing in Eleko, Ajah, Lagos State, was allegedly in possession of vandalized transformer parts that belonged to the Showo Community in Kobape, along the Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway. These transformer parts were the property of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

This incident was detailed in a statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutula.

According to Odutola, the arrest followed complaints from villagers who alerted the police at approximately 4:30 am that Friday regarding the activities of vandals in the community.

In response to this information, the DPO of Owode Egba Police Division in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state, CSP Popoola Olasunkanmi, led his team to promptly address the distress call, resulting in the apprehension of Adewole Adekunle, residing at No 28, Eleko, Ajah, Lagos.
