May Yul Edochie Responds to Backlash, Denies Advocating for Divorce

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Actress May Yul Edochie has addressed the backlash she has received since her divorce filing, particularly from men accusing her of promoting separation. In a recent interview with AY Makun on his *Glasshouse* podcast, May clarified her views, stating, “I am not an advocate for divorce or separation. I deeply value family and marriage as the foundation of family life.”

The former wife of actor Yul Edochie filed for divorce in 2023 after he took a second wife, citing the 1970 Marriage Act, which prohibits multiple spouses. Following her filing, May also pursued a court order to restrict Yul’s access to their matrimonial home, citing security concerns. Despite public criticism, she reiterated that her actions are not meant to encourage divorce but to ensure safety and stability for herself and her children.
