Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state has established a target for his administration to elevate the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from $4.4 billion to $30 billion in the foreseeable future.Mbah, however, emphasizes the importance of a peaceful and secure environment in order to achieve the goal of increasing Enugu State’s GDP. He has prioritized the security of lives and properties on his agenda and recently held a meeting with top security officers, traditional rulers, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. Through this meeting, they discussed strategies to ensure that Enugu State remains peaceful and safe, allowing for uninterrupted progress in serving the people and driving economic growth.

Mbah took to his official Twitter handle to disclose the details of the meeting, stating, “Yesterday, I had a crucial meeting at the Enugu State Government House with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, and other military personnel, traditional rulers, CSOs, and stakeholders. In our plan to grow our economy and increase our GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion, security of lives and properties is paramount.”

He further expressed his commitment to making Enugu State a place that its residents can be proud of, urging all indigenes to consider investing in the state as it is their only home.

It’s worth noting that Mbah recently reaffirmed his ban on Monday’s sit-at-home orders in Enugu, as he believes they have a detrimental impact on the economic development of the state. However, he also expressed the government’s willingness to engage in dialogue with individuals who have genuine grievances, with the aim of achieving lasting peace and security in Enugu State.
