Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, convened a meeting with the state minimum wage implementation committee, directing that civil servants be paid the new national wage this month. The meeting took place on Monday at the council chamber of the government house in Maiduguri. The information was released in a statement signed by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahmam Bundi, and made available to newsmen on Friday.

In addition to the wage announcement, Governor Zulum approved the release of N3 billion for the payment of entitlements to the families of civil servants who passed away in Borno State. He made a symbolic cheque presentation to the Nigerian Union of Pensioners during the meeting.

Furthermore, the governor assured attendees that he would clear the backlog of gratuities owed and ensure an upward review of monthly pension payments in the state.
