Mohbad’s Father Sues Naira Marley Over Alleged Unfulfilled N30m Promise


A new controversy has surfaced involving the late singer Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, who has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Naira Marley over an alleged unfulfilled promise of ₦30 million.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, leaving a significant void in Nigeria’s music industry. Despite multiple court hearings and police investigations, the exact circumstances of his death remain unresolved.

According to reports by popular entertainment blogger Cutie Juls, Naira Marley had promised to give ₦30 million to Joseph Aloba. Based on this promise, Aloba was said to have offered support to Naira Marley, allegedly redirecting blame for his son’s troubles towards Mohbad’s wife, Olawunmi.

Following Naira Marley’s acquittal over allegations related to Mohbad’s assault, Joseph Aloba reportedly reached out to him regarding the promised payment. When the promise was not fulfilled, Aloba proceeded to take legal action.

However, according to Cutie Juls, the court dismissed the case. To date, Aloba is yet to receive the alleged ₦30 million from Naira Marley.
