Mr Macaroni Defends Snubbing Lagos Governor Sanwo Olu Amid Backlash

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Nigerian comedian Mr Macaroni has defended his decision to snub Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu. The controversy began on January 9, 2025, when an X user, John, accused Macaroni of ignoring the governor to please the public.

The post sparked reactions online. Many defended Macaroni, saying he stayed true to his values. One comment praised him, saying, “He refuses to betray his emotions by dining with those he condemns.”

Others criticized him for disrespecting the governor. One user questioned, “Who is Sanwo Olu? Politicians in other countries aren’t worshipped like this.”

Macaroni responded directly. He tweeted, “I will continue to snub your Governor. He doesn’t mean anything to me, neither do you, your father, or your ancestors!” He also expressed amusement at the recurring issue, saying, “Every time you bring it up, I’ll send you to your masters!”

Mr Macaroni is known for his outspoken activism and criticism of poor governance in Nigeria. His stance on Governor Sanwo Olu aligns with his call for greater accountability in leadership.
