Narrow Escape from Fatality in Ogun Building Collapse

In a heart-pounding incident, an individual known as Seun narrowly evaded a life-threatening situation when a building in the Old Bank area of Ogun State’s Ifo Local Government Area collapsed on Wednesday.

According to reports , there were no casualties, but the victim found himself trapped for hours beneath the fallen staircase of the building. He was eventually rescued by onlookers who rushed to the scene.

An eyewitness who spoke  that the building had exhibited signs of structural distress for an extended period before it finally succumbed to gravity at approximately 5:20 p.m.

A one-minute video shared with our correspondent on Thursday captured the efforts of residents as they mobilized resources to extract the trapped individual from the debris.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola,  that the victim was currently undergoing treatment.

“The victim is receiving medical attention at Demark hospital after being swiftly transported there. The area has been cordoned off, and we have also reached out to the Local Government Authority to secure the affected zone,” Odutola reported in a WhatsApp conversation with our correspondent.
