Nasarawa Assembly Assures NUJ of continuous partnership

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has assured the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa state Chapter of continued partnership in order to bring speedy development to the state and the country at large.

Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House made this know while playing host to members of NUJ, Nasarawa State Chapter at Assembly complex in Lafia today.

He said that effective synergy with journalists in the state would not only bring development to the state but would also ensure peace and unity in the state.

The speaker tasked journalists on balanced reportage for development to thrive.

” We are in deed honour and we appreciate the recognition and support given to this Honourable House by members of NUJ.

“As we are quiet aware of the role of the media in strengthening democracy. We are ready to partner with you in order to take Nasarawa State and the country to the greater height, ” he said.

Balarabe Abdullahi attributed his success in the House to the support given to him by all the honorable members.

” The secret of my success is humbleness, sincerity, God fearing and commitment to duties, ” he said.

Earlier, Comrade Salihu Mohammed Alkali, the Chairman of NUJ said that the visit was to familiarise themselves with members of the House as newly executive council members.

” You are the best speaker as you have passed the highest number of bills during the 5th assembly and in this six assembly, in one year you have passed 15 bills which is among the highest in the country.

” You have also empowered your constituents positively, ” he said.

The chairman urged the state lawmakers to patronage the Press centre while assuring of adequate publicity to the activities of the House at all times.
