NDE Empowers 100 Unemployed Women In Kogi

200,000 youths to benefit from FG's vocational training programmes —NDE –  Punch Newspapers

The Kogi State Coordinator of NDE, Mallam  Zakari Abubakar has assured that the training
programme has the capacity to improve their living standard and even make them great enterprenures.

The Coordinator gave me assurance at the  flagg- off ceremony of the commencement of the trainining of 100 unemployed women in Spice Production, Processing and Packaging under her women empowerment programme.

Speaking at the opening ceremony held at the children’s Amusment Park lokoja, Mallam Abubakar
enjoined the trainees to avail themselves of the opportunity to  participate fully in all the practical sessions to gain in the skill acquisition programme.

Mall Abdullahi reiterated the commitment of the Director General of NDE, Dr Nasiru Mohammed Ladan Arugungu, to create Jobs for the teaming unemployed persons in fullfilment of the mandate of NDE and desire of President Mohammadu Buhari.

In her remarks, the Kogi State Commissoner for Women Affairs and Social Development,  Fatima Kabir Buba observed that women Development through skill aquisition is key to solving issues relating to poverty, gender equality and overall economic growth of the nation.

She stressed “this training will enable our women to utilize our God-given natural resources and herbs into food suppliments which will contribute significantly to good family health and  the economy in terms of bussiness and enterprise.”

In her address, the wife of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Hajia Rashida Bello, who was represented by her Senior Special Assistant on women affairs, (Mrs) Sandra Mimi Musa said that she is passionate about the welfare of Citizenry and  always eager to collabourate with any group or organization that is willing to create jobs for them to exit poverty.

Responding, a trainee, Mrs Sikiratu Audu Bello expressed her appreciation to the  Federal Government, NDE and the Kogi State Governor for this partnership which facilitated the training.
