By Milcah Tanimu

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the 23-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe. Notably, Ahmed Musa and William Troost-Ekong have been excluded once again, raising eyebrows among fans and pundits. In a surprising move, Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella earns his first national team call-up, while Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi returns after recovering from a groin injury.
