Nigeria’s Unity Must Be Maintained By All Religious Followers -Group

By JABIRU A HASSAN, Kano.

National Unity Group (NUG) has called on all religious followers to work hard for the unity and progress of this great nation especially at this era when the country is experiencing so many challenges that includes the issue of insecurity.

In a statement signed and issued to our correspondent in Kano by the group’s national president Ustaz Usman Adam, disclosed that what had recently happened in Jos where many Muslims we’re killed by some elements of destruction can cause serious problem in the country.

” What had happened in Jos is a breach of peace and our group is calling on the federal government to take serious action against those who had a hand in the killing of over 20 people injuring many others just because they are Muslims, this is not good and Nigeria belongs to all religious believers therefore enough is enough”. Said NUG.

The statement further appealed to the Muslims brothers and sisters to be patience and allow the government and security agencies to work about the incident which is contained in the teachings of Islam that ” he who remained patience would see bounties”.

In conclusion, the National Unity Group called on the federal government to fish out all those who fueled the killings and punish them in accordance with what they have committed so as to serve as lesson to those who are planning similar action.
