NIS commissions Forward Operations Base at Belel, Adamawa

In an effort to continue covering border areas that were taken over by irregular migrants, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede MFR, has commissioned another Forward Operation Base at Belel in Adamawa State.               

The move according to the Service PRO, DCI S James demonstrates CGI Babandede’s committed to ensuring air tight border patrol and migration control around Nigeria’s borders by establishing 15 Forward Operation Bases including the new one commissioned at Belel in Adamawa State.             

The Chairman of Maiha Local Government, Alhaji Idi Amin, commended the Comptroller General for his visionary and transformational leadership resulting in the massive infrastructures across the NIS formations aimed at improving the welfare and conditions of work of the officers.  Alh.Idi Amin, a former Immigration officer, was quick to observe the drastic changes witnessed in NIS service delivery to the public in such a short period that Babandede was appointed which has attracted accolades from within and outside the country.                              

CGI Babandede in his remarks thanked the dignitaries that graced the occasion especially the Representative of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support, the Chairman Maiha Local Government, Alhaji Idi Amin, the Emir of Mubi, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu and the Damburram Mubi Chief of Belel for accommodating the operatives.

The Comptroller General reiterated his commitment to visiting every location where the NIS formations are located to feel their pulse and address issues personally not delegating anyone. “It is my duty to visit my operatives wherever they are stationed as a sign of good leadership” he said.
