Renowned Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, facing the challenges of paralysis, has reached out to the public for financial support to cover his medical expenses.
In a video circulating online, Muonagor shared that his health issues have left him unable to lead a normal life. He disclosed that the first two months of his medical treatment took place in an undisclosed hospital in Nnewi, from where he was subsequently referred to a teaching hospital in the same area.
Muonagor expressed regret for not revealing his condition to the public sooner, as he initially believed it would be a temporary ailment. However, his condition has worsened, leaving him unable to walk without assistance, and with half of his left hand paralyzed.
“I am sick. This thing called stroke has affected me,” Muonagor lamented, adding, “I was about to enter my car when I was struck by this problem, and since then, it has been getting worse.”
He went on to appeal to kind-hearted individuals to come to his aid, emphasizing the paralysis affecting half of his body and rendering his left hand immobile.
This revelation comes on the heels of another veteran actor, Charles Okafor (popularly known as Mr. Ibu), seeking financial assistance for surgeries to prevent the amputation of one of his legs. Mr. Ibu’s call for help garnered support from Nigerian music stars and the general public, including notable figures like Davido, P-Square, Tunde Ednut, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Mr. Ibu provided an update on his condition, sharing that he has successfully undergone five surgeries and expressing his profound gratitude to the public. He is now awaiting stabilization before embarking on overseas medical treatment.
