Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong has called on stakeholders from the North Central Zone to put the interest of the region above personal interests as the North Central Development Commission sets to kick off.
Senator Lalong made the call during the Caucus expanded meeting of the North Central attended by North Central Governors Forum and National Assembly Members in Abuja.
Lalong commended the stakeholders who played one role or the other in ensuring that the dream of having the Commission came to fruition.
He also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for signing the NCDC Bill immediately it was passed by the National Assembly.
He said as the Commission begins operations, it was important for the leaders to come together and unite towards smooth take off of the body which is expected to address the development challenges of the region.
Chairman of the North Central Governors Forum Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State said the meeting was aimed at ensuring that all leaders are on the same page and work together for a united goal.
After the meeting, Senator Lalong received one of his predecessors, Senator Victor Lar who paid him a visit in his office at the national assembly.
The two held discussions behind closed doors on issues relating to the development of the Southern Zone, the APC and the State at large.
