The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State has apprehended a total of eight suspects involved in various criminal activities, including vandalism, car theft, and phone snatching.
During a press briefing held at the command’s headquarters on Thursday evening, the Commandant of the state NSCDC, Muhammad Falala, provided the information. Among the arrested individuals were Ibrahim Sani (25), Salahu Abubakar Ale (25), and Jafar Sani (20), who were apprehended in Sabon Gari, Fagge LGA, while attempting to vandalize an armored 7mm cable.
The remaining suspects are Bara’u Auwal (19), Yusuf Ibrahim (18), and Sharhabilu Rabiu Abubakar (19), who were arrested in Dorayi/Chiranchi Gwale Local Government Area for their involvement in phone theft.
The NSCDC has apprehended Aminu Adamu, a 32-year-old resident of Unguwar Dosa in Kaduna State, for his involvement in car theft and document forgery. The arrest took place in Gandun Albasa, Kano Municipal, where Adamu was caught in the act of attempting to steal a Toyota Corolla.
According to the Commandant, the confiscated items from Adamu include a set of keys containing 13 Toyota keys, a counterfeit license plate, and falsified vehicle documents.
Once the investigation is completed, all the suspects, including Aminu Adamu, will face prosecution in court.
