Offa Community Donates N700m Police Post for Security

The people of Offa Community in Kwara State has built a police barrack with accommodation worth 700 millions Naira to assist in security of life and properties in the second most populated town in the state.

The mobile police post project which came to fruition in less than a year of satanic historic Bank robbery incident that claimed the life of 33 people included pregnant woman and children.

We could recall that after that armed robbery incident, the Offa Indigenes both home and abroad under the leadership of his royal highness Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, Oloffa Of Offa, inaugurated a committee on security trust fund under the chairmanship of Dr. Funsho Rabiu Oladipupo and Vowed to do what they could in strengthen up the security of the ancient town, most especially in provision of offices and standard residence apartments to encourage police officers posted to the town.

In his word at the commissioning ceremony event, The Oloffa said “exactly 267 days now, dare-devil armed robbers invaded our community, went into our banks and carted away monies and leaving in their trail, sorrows, tears and blood of 33 members of the community were killed in cold blood, among them were pregnant woman and children”

“Prior to April incident, the issue of security has been a great concern and challenge in my domain, in memory lane when armed robbers struck in 2014, we gave out 7 Hilux Vehicles to various security agencies in the community”

“The 68 Mobile Police MPF squadron which comprises of 16 offices, 200 Capacity conference room, abode for Officers with boreholes Water and electricity we are commissioning today is sacrifice borne out of the sweat of our people. And We want to specially thank the inspector-general Of police, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpotum Idris, mni, for his organisation approval and support to make it reality, the timely approval given to the project by IG shows that you truly shared in our pain. As we hand over the base to you, we ask for the deployment of enough personnel to make it achieve its purpose “

In his goodwill message at the occasion, the Minister Of information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed appealed to Nigeria Police force to redouble their efforts in ensuring the state is ride off of criminal elements because that is the major criterial that would encourage investors to the state

Speaking at the occasion, the representative of the Inspector General Of police Mr Lawal Jimeta who is a Commissioner Of police in charge of Mopol appreciated the decision of Offa people in their giant step of contributing to the security of Nigeria and Offa community in particular and promised that the police force would do every needful to make sure Offa is crime free, and charged members of the community to see security as part of their own daily responsibilities by feeding police force with necessary information that can prevent crime.
