By Anastacia Eluwa

Incumbent Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state is gradually coasting to victory as he leads in 14 out of the 15 Local Government Area already declared by INEC.

However, 15 council areas results that have been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as at 4:45 pm have placed the Governor at an advantageous position to win his closet rival, Chief Great Ogboru, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Though, the representative of APC, Mr. Turner Ogboru, the younger brother to the party candidate totally rejected the results and called for immediate cancellation.

According to him, “A by-pass of the card readers took place in all the council areas won by the PDP. These bogus results run contrary to the total number of accredited voters in the local government areas. APC rejects the results as announced by the Returning Officers in them and is calling for the cancellation of the results in such localities.”

The state Chairman of PDP, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, described the results as true reflection of the voters’ wish for the state.

Below is the results of the 15 local government areas as declared by INEC Returning Officers in the various councils:
