Our Dream for African Music Realized: 2Baba Reflects on Late Sound Sultan

Over two years since the passing of the renowned singer, Sound Sultan, 2Baba continues to honor and celebrate his late friend. On Instagram, 2Baba shared a heartfelt note, addressing Sound Sultan and reflecting on significant developments in the music industry.

In the note, the legendary singer expressed that their dream and aspiration for Nigerian and African music domination have come true. 2Baba humorously mentioned that he has become an upcoming artist, but he won’t easily give in to the new talents emerging. He concluded by noting that there are many stories to share as they step into the New Year.

“YO Lanre,

In 2022, marking the first anniversary of Sound Sultan’s death, 2Baba expressed his deep longing for his friend. Then, in February 2023, 2Baba wrote another heartfelt note, expressing how much he missed Sound Sultan and pledging to continue celebrating his legacy until they reunite.”
