Phyna Reacts to Kenyan Athlete Rebecca Cheptegei’s Tragic Death: “I’m Happy I Moved On”

The shocking news of Kenyan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei’s death has sent ripples across social media, especially due to the disturbing details that she was allegedly set on fire by her boyfriend. BBNaija star Phyna added her voice to the conversation, reflecting on the tragedy while drawing from her own past relationship experiences.

Phyna shared a candid post, saying, “As time goes by, I continue to enjoy my life as a single 27-year-old Queen, achieving everything I ever dreamt of. I’m happy I moved on from my ex and never looked back… RIP Rebecca Cheptegei. I really wanted you to pull through. Love is so scary.”

Cheptegei, who was critically injured after reportedly being set on fire by her boyfriend, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive.

While Phyna’s comments aligned with widespread discussions about the dangers of toxic relationships following the tragedy, her remarks sparked mixed reactions online. Some netizens criticized her for speaking out, referencing her own controversial behavior in past relationships.

One user commented, “Phyna, but you were the one abusing Groovy and beating him,” while others urged her to focus on other pursuits. Despite the backlash, many agreed with her underlying message, emphasizing the importance of leaving abusive relationships and finding peace.
