By Isreal Adamu, Jos

In a major step toward improving infrastructure and promoting sustainable tourism, the Plateau State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project has signed a ₦27.1 million contract with Tolsega, a design firm, for the development of road designs within the Jos Wildlife Park.

The contract signing ceremony took place on Monday at the ACReSAL office in Jos, with officials from the ACReSAL State Project Management Unit (SPMU) and the Tolsega team in attendance.

The Jos Wildlife Park, known for its rich biodiversity and unique ecosystems, attracts both local and international tourists. The project aims to enhance accessibility while ensuring environmental sustainability.

Speaking at the event, Garba Gowon Gonkol, the Project Coordinator of Plateau State ACReSAL, emphasized the importance of the initiative. “These new road designs will not only improve accessibility for visitors but also help preserve our natural resources for future generations,” he said.

Tolsega’s Team Lead, Olukoya Olusegun, expressed enthusiasm about the project. “We are honored to be part of this initiative and are committed to delivering a high-quality job on schedule,” he assured.

The contract covers the design of a network of roads that will facilitate easier access to key attractions within the park, including wildlife viewing areas.
