Police Commence Recruitment for Constables and Specialists

The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have jointly initiated a recruitment drive, inviting interested Nigerians to apply for constable positions. Additionally, the PSC is seeking applications for enlistment in specialized fields, including medical and veterinary assistants, band section, communications or information technology specialists, drivers, mechanics, marines, plumbers, masons, painters, tilers, electricians, welders, and carpenters.

The online application portal will be accessible from October 15 to November 26, 2023, for a six-week duration.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
– Be of Nigerian origin by birth.
– Possess the national identification number (NIN).
– Hold a minimum of five credits in no more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or equivalent, including credits in English and Mathematics.
– Be between the ages of 18 and 25.
– Be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and meet the height requirement of at least 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.
– Male applicants should have an expanded chest measurement of at least 86cm (34 inches) while female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry.
– Qualifications issued before 2015 will not be accepted.
– Be free from any financial embarrassment and not convicted of any criminal offense.

For applicants applying to specialized fields, a minimum of four credits in no more than two sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent is required, along with credits in English and Mathematics. Medical and Veterinary Assistants must have a minimum of 5 credits in no more than 2 sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent with credits in English and Mathematics, and relevant field certificates will be an added advantage.

Applicants for specialized fields must be between 18 and 28 years old.
