Police Heighten Efforts to Rescue Abducted Abuja Sisters – FPRO

The Nigeria Police Force has intensified efforts to rescue six young girls abducted in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured the public that comprehensive plans are underway to prevent further kidnapping cases across the country.

The development follows the reported killing of one of the abducted girls, Najeebah, by gunmen who had kidnapped her and her five sisters alongside their father. The abductors released the father, demanding a N60 million ransom for the release of the daughters.

Adejobi stated that the Inspector General, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the escalation of tactical intelligence teams in the fight against kidnapping. While specific details are being kept confidential to avoid compromising ongoing operations, the police actively engage individuals crucial to the rescue efforts and investigations.

The police emphasized the importance of public cooperation and urged the community to provide useful information to support the rescue operations. Egbetokun also deployed police officers with enhanced security equipment along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway to ensure the safety of travelers in response to the rising cases of kidnappings in the region.
