Nigeria Police Force Implements Traffic Diversions for Presidential Inauguration

The Nigeria Police Force has introduced traffic diversions in Abuja ahead of the May 29 Presidential inauguration at Eagle Square. SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer in the Federal Capital Territory, announced various points of diversion to facilitate smooth traffic flow. These include Goodluck Jonathan Expressway, Deeper Life Junction, Bond/Total Filling Station, POWA/FCDA Junction, and Finance Junction. Additional diversion points include Eagle Square (Phase 1 & Phase 2), Kur Muhammad Way/National Mosque, Abia House, NITEL Junction, Gana Junction/Transcorp, Bayelsa House, Aso Drive, Ceddi Plaza, NNPC Twin Tower, and NNPC/NBS.

To ensure a secure and peaceful inauguration, the Police Command has deployed human and material resources, including intelligence and tactical assets, across the Federal Capital Territory. The operation focuses on visible policing, stop and search duties, intelligence-led raids in high-risk areas, as well as surveillance and vehicular/foot patrols.

In addition, the Police Command has informed the public about a planned fireworks display organized by Messrs Innate Arts and Media. The fireworks will take place at the City Gate and the Millennium Tower on the eve of the inauguration, midnight of May 28, symbolizing the commencement of the new administration. This notification aims to raise awareness among residents and visitors and ensure a smooth and informed experience during the event.
