The Presidency has urged Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna state, to rejoin the party following his recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s government. The appeal was made by Daniel Bwala, a media aide to President Tinubu, on Thursday via social media.
Bwala reminded El-Rufai of his key role in the 2023 election campaign. He questioned whether El-Rufai’s actions were motivated by vengeance rather than patriotism. El-Rufai replied that his criticisms were not driven by personal gain but by concerns about issues within the party.
Bwala urged El-Rufai to settle any grievances and return to the fold. He praised El-Rufai as one of the brightest leaders from the north.
Bwala also reminded El-Rufai that the APC remains the most organized party in Nigeria. He urged him to come back and continue his work for the party’s progress.
