Rema Surprises Fans with Announcement of Second Album ‘He Is’

Rema, a prominent figure in the Nigerian music industry and a key player in the global rise of Afrobeats, shocked fans on July 8, 2024, with the announcement of his second album, ‘He Is,’ set to release on July 11, 2024.

The announcement came just hours after the multi-award-winning superstar released his second single of the year, ‘Hehehe,’ a track where he addresses his critics and reaffirms his status as a top-tier artist in the Nigerian music scene.

Since the start of 2024 with ‘Benin Boy’ featuring Shallipopi, Rema has been hinting at new music on social media, showcasing a mix of gothic imagery and rock-inspired fast tempos, while still rooted in Afrobeats through its drum patterns and lyrical style.

Rema’s new album, ‘He Is,’ is expected to delve deeper into his evolving artistic journey, which began with his acclaimed 2023 EP, ‘Ravage.’ With this new release, Rema aims to build on the success of his debut album ‘Raves & Roses,’ which was propelled by the global hit single ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez.

While the full track list for ‘He Is’ has yet to be revealed, it is anticipated that Shallipopi will feature on the album, following their collaboration on ‘Benin Boy.’ Additionally, Rema has teased a track featuring rapper Odumodublvck, expected to be part of the new album.
