Ruben Amorim, Sporting Lisbon’s highly-rated coach, has responded to Manchester United’s interest following the club’s decision to part ways with Erik ten Hag. United is reportedly prepared to meet Amorim’s €10 million release clause as they seek a fresh start after Ten Hag’s tenure ended on a downturn.
After Sporting’s recent League Cup victory against Nacional, Amorim remained cautious about his future. “Nobody knows whether this was my farewell match. Nothing is decided yet,” he said to Portuguese media outlet *A Bola*. Despite links to Premier League opportunities, Amorim has expressed pride in leading Sporting, where he has won two Portuguese titles since 2020.
United’s interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy holds the reins for now, but the club appears focused on securing Amorim as their long-term choice. Known for his strategic approach, Amorim is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young coaches.
