Security: Wike promises to build two more police stations , patrol vehicles , gadgets to cover Gwagwalada

In a bid to beef up security against kidnappings and bandits in Gwagwalada , the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has promised to build two more police stations, provide patrol vehicles and communication gadgets to security agents.

Wike made this known on Friday at a Town Hall security meeting in Gwagwalada after the Area Council Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Jubrin Giri made a passionate request for two more police stations to compliment security surveillance in the Council to help check the menace of kidnappings and banditry.

The minister, who announced that Mr. President Bola Tinubu has taken security as a priority and has promised to protest the lives and property of all Nigerians.

Wike said, “Security is one thing the president has promised to give Nigerians because his job is to protect lives and property. If we cannot protect lives and property , then it is worthless for us to be in government.”
The minister urged the Gwagwalada Police CP to work two more police stations in the community, adding it is an urgent Security matter.

He stated, ” The president has given me the power to provide vehicles for security. Before next week in all the Area Councils, there shall be more vehicles for security and other communication gadgets for security agents to work with and to make sure that criminals are not given a chance again.

According to him, criminals operating in Gwagwalada, Bwari and other Area Councils should get ready to be flushed out because their time is up.

“I am here today in Gwagwalada Area Council because the president has sent me to go to all the Area Councils . The other day I was in Bwari and today I am in Gwagwalada , next week I go Abaji and Kwali and others.”

“I and security agencies will go after you until you evacuate from Gwagwalada.

He also urged for support from the people, adding that security agents alone cannot do the work. They need information from traditional rulers and youths .

The minister further announced that some informants feeding kidnappers with information have been arrested.

Moreover, Wike promised to demolish abandoned buildings serving hideouts for criminals.

The Aguma of Gwagwalada Alhaji Mohammed Magaji appealed for the completion of the abandoned general hospital in Gwagwalada Area Council and the dualization of the road leading to the University Teaching Hospital.
