Sen. Wamakko Sponsors 60 Students To American Maryam Abacha University, Maradi

A University Don Professor Aliyu Muhammad Bunza of the Nigerian Languages Department from University DanFodiyo University Sokoto has described Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Sarkin Yamman sokoto as a champion of education in the North-west of the country.

This was contained in a release by Senator’s media aide, Bashar Abubakar.

It further said this commendation followed when the lawmaker sponsored another set of Sixty Students who are to study various fields of education at the Maryam Abacha American University Maradi, Niger Republic and Al-qalam University Katsina, katsina state respectively.

The University Don who doubled as special Guest and the representative of senator Wamakko at the occasion, made the commendation in a paper presented on the Importance of education in the society, said senator Wamakko has become one like thousand as he continuously sponsoring children of the poor to study at various Universities within and outside the country.

Professor Bunza, however explained that, giving knowledge in the society will certainly reduce a number of crimes and criminalities, such as banditry, kidnapping and restiveness.

He described senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as leader per excellence especially with the regards to his philanthropic works by impacting positively in the lives of the comman man.

Professor Bunza also challenged other politicians who are seeking for elective positions to emulate senator Wamakko by sponsoring less privileged people before they are voted into power.

He described Northern Nigeria as a progressive region as it graduated many intellects like, American Car designer Jelani Aliyu, Professor Gulmare, amongst others that excelled intellectually and technologically.

He called for a democratically United Nigeria for the overall development of all.

Chairman of the occasion a retired permanent secretary Alh. Aminu Abdullahi Iyan Sokoto underscored the giant strides of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko in the Area of human development, urging other elective officials to emulate senator Wamakko for a better Nigeria.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of admission letters to the Sixty students who would study, Medicine, law, Information Communication Technology and social sciences among other courses.

Some beneficiaries and their Parents applauded the efforts of senator Wamakko and promised to concentrate in their study for the set objectives.
The event held at the Sokoto Senatorial office along Garba Duba Road sokoto and was attended by many important personalities.
