Senator David Mark Condoles Suswam over brother’s murder

Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has condoled with Senator Gabriel Suswam and his family over the murder of his elder brother Dr Terkula Suswam.

The deceased was allegedly gunned down alongside his Aide by unidentified assailants in front of his house at Anyiin Gaambetiev country home in Logo Local Government Area, Benue State on Wednesday.

According to Mark, Dr Terkula was a philanthropist who made enormous impacts on his community and beyond.

Mark noted that, “Dr Terkula’s death is a huge loss not only to the people of Benue State but also to the nation at large.

“He was a peace ambassador who lived among his people until this sad event.”

Senator Mark while expressing sadness over the murder of Dr Terkula, tasked security operatives to fish out the killers and ensure that justice is served.

He tasked the federal government to rise up to the occasion saying, “this unabating security challenges ravaging parts of the country ranging from insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, militancy amongst others are reprehensible and cannot be tolerated anymore.

“We cannot continue to live in fear even in our own houses, sleeping with one eye open. I urge the government at all levels to rise up to their primary responsibility of safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians. This must be done swiftly to avoid resort to self-help.”

Mark, while expressing sympathy for the immediate family of the deceased, prayed that God in His infinite mercies grant the entire family and people of Benue State the fortitude to bear the loss.
