SOKOTO: Federal High Court Affirmed Achida As APC Chairman

By Muhammad Ibrahim,Sokoto

The Presiding Judge of the Federal High Court sitting in Sokoto today dismissed the suit filed against the leadership of Isah Sadiq Achida.

Justice Omotosho in his ruling on the suit file by the Mainasara led faction dismissed the case saying it should have been filed two weeks since the appellant court judgement in Abuja High Court.

Considering the report by INEC, Justice Omotosho said Achida and his executives are the only recognized members to lead the APC party in Sokoto adding that the congress of the Mainasara faction was not conducted in the party Secretariat.

Justice Omotosho had earlier dismissed the preliminary objection filed by the counsel to Achida that the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter since it was an internal affairs of the party.

History brought the remembrance of the state’s congresses held last year, two leaderships emerged for APC in the state, the Isa Sadiq Achida led executive which were supported by Senator Aliyu Wamakko and and the Mainasara Abubakar Sani’s executive backed by Senator Abubakar Gada.
