Sokoto Government Reposition Statistical Agency For Efficient Performance

Sokoto State Government has repositioned & strengthened the State Statistical Agency, to make it more efficient in its routine operations,  according to the Statistician -General of the State, Alhaji Adamu Liman Tambuwal. 
According to the Public Relations Of the Ministry For Budget & Economic Planning Aisha Lawal, the state government has also enacted a law that has empowered the Agency  to discharge it’s responsibilities in conformity with subsisting global standards .
The  Statistician General disclosed this while declaring open a three-day  Training of Enumerators for the National Business Sample Census,  on behalf of the Overseer of the State Ministry Of Budget & Economic Planning, Alhaji Bashir Gidado Jegawa.
He stated that, the measure was taken considering the fact that,  reliable and accurate data on major sectors were major prerequisites towards addressing poverty in any society.

Tambuwal said:” The decision was aimed at ensuring accurate and reliable statistical information that would serve as a guide for good governance to thrive in the state. “The training would be conducted within three days, while the exercise is expected to commence on the 12th of this month and last for for two days.
” The exercise is a collaborative one between the National Bureau Of Statistics and the State Bureau Of Statistics.”
