Sokoto Police Arrest Two Criminals In Connection With Trailing Bank Custimers

There has been reported cases on bank customers being trailed after cash withdrawals by some criminals and stealing the money especially as this festive period fast approaching. 

The Sokoto Police Command spokesman, DSP Sanusi Abubakar said it is on the above that the police Command escalated its efforts towards getting rid of Sokoto State of these and many other bad elements. 

He said on 16/12/2022 at about 1400hrs through the use of Artificial Intelligence and increased vigilance, arrested a syndicate of criminals at Usman Danfodio University Teaching hospital who trailed one of the bank customer from one of the first generation bank to the point of parking his Honda Accord car at UDUS while both attempted to unlock it in a compromise manner with some tools. The arrested suspects are: Chubuke Obaduke and Efeanyi Odu all of Ogbuta LGA of Imo State. During police investigation both suspects explained how they were able to trailed down the vehicle owner from one of the bank in Sokoto metropolis were he withdrew the sum of  #750,000 cash and kept it inside his car. 

In addition, High level police Investigation has been extended to other conspirators especially those that provide accommodation to them and extension benefiting from their loots. Meanwhile both suspects were already been profiled and will be charged to court on completion of investigation. 

The Command is using these medium to inform members of the public to be vigilant most especially at banks location and report any suspicious activities to the nearby policemen or contact the Command on its emergency number 07068848035 for prompt response.
