In a recent operation, Nigerian Army soldiers successfully intercepted and neutralized three terrorists in transit near Kidandan Village, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The troops, acting on credible intelligence, set up an ambush for the terrorists who were reportedly en route to repair their motorcycles, which they used for nefarious activities in the region.
A fierce gun battle ensued between the soldiers and the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of three militants. Additionally, the troops recovered several weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, a stock AK-47 rifle, four motorcycles, and a Motorola radio.
The Nigerian Army, in a post on its official X handle, commended the troops for their successful counter-terrorism operation and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the populace. The Army urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies in their efforts to combat insecurity across the country.
This encounter adds to the ongoing efforts by Nigerian security forces to address the scourge of terrorism and insurgency in various parts of the country. Reports indicate that between January and March 2024, troops have eliminated no fewer than 2,351 terrorists in various operations.
