Sultan of Sokoto Urges Nigerians to Pray for Their Leaders

By   Milcah   Tanimu

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders, despite the country’s challenges. Speaking at an event at the University of Ilorin, the Sultan stressed that prayer is more powerful than criticism, noting that even poor leaders can change through divine intervention.

He said, “Even if a leader is bad, pray for him. Almighty Allah can make him turn a new leaf and become a better person.” The Sultan encouraged Nigerians to support their leaders for the good of the country.

Several dignitaries, including the Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and KU8+ Secretary-General, Professor Francisca Oladipo, attended the event. Fagbemi reinforced the Sultan’s message, calling for more encouragement and less criticism of leadership.
