Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, along with national team defender Shehu Abdullahi, visited the National Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman, Shehu Dikko, on Monday to express their support for his leadership and vision for advancing Nigerian sports.
In a statement sent to our correspondent on Tuesday, Musa, who holds the record for most appearances for the Super Eagles, voiced his confidence in Dikko’s plans for the country’s sports sector. “I’m here to support the efforts of our NSC boss, Shehu Dikko, and wish him the very best,” Musa said. “I believe Dikko will lead sports in the right direction, and I am here on behalf of myself and the entire Super Eagles players to pledge my loyalty and support to him.”
Responding to Musa’s endorsement, Dikko expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the importance of support from notable athletes like Musa in the journey to reform Nigerian sports. “Ahmed Musa’s and the Super Eagles players’ support is invaluable as we look to transform Nigerian sports,” Dikko stated. “Our goal is to build a system that values our athletes and establishes a strong foundation for sports to flourish. Having distinguished players like Musa engaged in this process is essential for achieving that.”
