Must read

Maryam Suleiman, the suspended Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, maintains her stance without regrets regarding her criticism of Governor Uba Sani.

In a telephone interview with The Press on Monday, Suleiman expressed her unwavering stance despite her suspension by the party, considering it as part of divine intervention.

The Kaduna State APC leadership took action against Suleiman on Sunday, imposing an indefinite suspension due to her outspoken criticism of the state governor, who had voiced concerns about inheriting significant debts from his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Governor Sani’s statements during a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday lamented the financial challenges left behind by El-Rufai’s administration, prompting Suleiman’s vocal opposition.

In a viral video posted on social media, Suleiman condemned Governor Sani’s remarks, accusing him of mismanagement and advising him against shifting blame to El-Rufai.

Despite her suspension, Suleiman remains resolute, asserting that she has yet to receive an official suspension letter from her Nasarawa/Malaki Ward.

She reaffirmed her commitment to her statements in the viral video, asserting that she spoke the truth. Suleiman criticized Governor Sani for what she perceived as betrayal, highlighting El-Rufai’s support in his political career.

Expressing gratitude for her stance, Suleiman emphasized that she stands by her criticism of Governor Sani, citing his involvement in securing loans during El-Rufai’s administration.

Suleiman’s unwavering stance underscores her conviction in speaking out against perceived injustices, despite facing disciplinary action from the party leadership.
