SystemSpecs GMD John Obaro Wins ‘Titan of the Year’ at ThisDay Awards

John Obaro, Group Managing Director (GMD) of SystemSpecs, has been honored as ‘Titan of the Year’ at the 2025 ThisDay Awards. The event, held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, gathered top business leaders, ministers, and entrepreneurs.

Obaro dedicated the award to his team, emphasizing the company’s commitment to driving technological innovation. “This recognition reflects the collective effort of the incredible SystemSpecs team. We remain focused on delivering solutions that empower businesses, individuals, and governments,” he stated.

With over 30 years in the industry, Obaro has transformed financial technology in Africa. His innovations include Remita, which powers Nigeria’s House Writes NNPC, Demands Records from NLNG Accounts over $20.3bn Withdrawals, and HumanManager, a workforce management solution streamlining HR processes nationwide.

Obaro holds multiple honorary doctorates and a lifetime achievement award in technology. Other recipients of the ‘Titan of the Year’ award include Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Emeka Anyaoku, Jim Ovia, and Segun Agbaje.

At the same event, Access Bank was named ‘Global Bank of the Year’ for 2024, reinforcing its influence in the financial sector.
