Tinubu And The Support Groups Of The 2023 APC Campaign: Debating Loyalty And Reward System In The Renewed Hope Era

By Amb Rikwense Muri.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been widely recognized as a charismatic and influential figure in Nigerian politics.

His leadership and strategic alliances have played a vital role in bringing the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power and shaping the country’s political landscape.

Throughout the campaign trail, numerous support groups from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja rallied behind Tinubu, pledging their unwavering loyalty and commitment to his presidency.

These groups worked tirelessly, sacrificing their time, resources, and even personal safety to ensure his triumph at the polls. However, to their dismay, many of these dedicated individuals and organizations have been left without any significant recognition or reward for their contributions.

It is undeniable that loyalty is a crucial aspect of any successful political movement. Loyalty fosters trust, unity, and harmony within a party, and rewards those who have worked selflessly for the common goal.

It inspires individuals and organizations to continue supporting the cause, even in the face of adversity or doubt.

In recognition of the immense sacrifice and dedication demonstrated by these support groups, it is imperative that President Tinubu includes them in his ongoing appointments into government.

By doing so, he would not only demonstrate his appreciation for their efforts but also strengthen the bond between him and the millions of Nigerians who put their faith in his leadership.

The exclusion of these support groups from key appointments, such as ministerial positions, governing boards, and agency heads, sends a discouraging message to those who have stood by Tinubu throughout his political career. It suggests that their loyalty and hard work have gone unnoticed and unappreciated, breeding frustration and disillusionment within the ranks.

Moreover, excluding these support groups could also have adverse effects on the overall performance and effectiveness of the government.

These individuals and organizations, who have proven their commitment and proficiency during the campaign, are likely equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.

For instance, the APC Initiative for Good Governance, which is just one among many dedicated support groups, has been at the forefront of promoting the ideals and manifestos of President Tinubu.

Their active role in mobilization, grassroots campaigning, and public enlightenment has undoubtedly contributed to the success of the party. It would be a disservice to the nation to disregard their capabilities and expertise.
President Tinubu, as a shrewd and experienced politician, is well aware of the value of loyalty and the need to reward those who have stood by his side.

It is important for him to not only acknowledge the contributions of these support groups but also to tap into their potential and utilize their skills for the betterment of Nigeria.

Rewarding loyalty would not only enhance President Tinubu’s reputation as a leader who values his supporters but would also inspire others to continue working tirelessly for the success of the administration.

It would foster a sense of inclusion, belonging, and shared responsibility among party faithful, ensuring a strong and cohesive government.

Additionally, rewarding loyalty would serve as a powerful lesson to future generations of politicians and political parties. It would reinforce the importance of recognizing and appreciating those who have dedicated their efforts and resources to a cause, and encourage similar acts of selflessness and service in the future.

In conclusion, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has an opportunity to demonstrate his appreciation for the support groups that played a crucial role in his emergence as the President of Nigeria.

By including them in his ongoing appointments into government, he would not only reward their loyalty but also strengthen the bond between him and his supporters. This act of recognition would not only enhance the effectiveness of the government but also set a precedent for future politicians to value and acknowledge the role of loyal supporters.

God Bless Federal Republic Of Nigeria!.
