Must read

Nigerians have taken to social media to comment on the video showing President Bola Tinubu slipping while boarding the presidential parade vehicle at Eagles Square in Abuja during the 2024 Democracy Day celebrations.

The incident occurred as the President approached the vehicle shortly after arriving at the venue. He momentarily lost his footing while stepping into the vehicle but quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings, assisted by his security aides.

The event at Eagles Square was part of a series of activities marking the country’s Democracy Day celebration.

Reactions on social media varied, with some mocking the President and others downplaying the incident since he continued with the ceremony. Below are some of the reactions:

– Àràkunrin Olabisi (@OlabisiLaw) posted: “It’s normal to fall. The most important thing was to rise again, which he firmly did. Nigeria will rise and be great again.”

– @xfactum commented: “People are really looking for this man’s downfall.”

– Maibitil Mni (@Maibitil_) wrote: “National Disgrace on National TV at Democracy Day. After blowing lies on TV, his body couldn’t hold those lies and chose to go down lowwwwwww for a minute.”

– @dammygtnet stated: “I will never laugh at this. This can happen to anyone. Even Joe Biden once experienced the same. My issue with President Tinubu is about his insensitive policies, which the populace is suffering from. He should do better or be booted out.”

– @Mr_francis55 expressed concern: “Oh no, God. Hope he didn’t injure himself.”

– @DrJHHyat wrote: “I hope Mr. President is fine. The state of the economy came to mind.”

– Andre (@Andree22_00) said: “Instead of you people to say sorry to him, you are laughing. It can happen to anyone.”

– @OgechukwuChime remarked: “Tinubu fell yakata. France hospital calling tomorrow.”

– Abiola (@Harbihorla4) noted: “Children of hate everywhere, it’s no big deal, it happens everywhere.”
