Tosin Adarabioyo Joins Chelsea’s Conference League Line-Up After Initial Oversight

By  Milcah    Tanimu

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has officially included the club’s latest recruit, Tosin Adarabioyo, in their UEFA Conference League play-off squad. This inclusion comes after an initial oversight where Adarabioyo was omitted from the squad list, as reported by The Sun.

The Blues are set to face Swiss Super League team, Servette FC, in the first leg of their 2024-2025 UEFA Conference League play-off at Stamford Bridge on August 22.

Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer earlier this summer, opted for the Stamford Bridge move over Newcastle United partly due to the opportunity to participate in European competitions. Therefore, it was unexpected that the 26-year-old Nigerian-born British centre-back was not included in the original squad.

Despite Adarabioyo’s inclusion, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, and Wesley Fofana have been left out of the squad for the Conference League fixture.

Notably, Sterling was also omitted from the squad that lost 2-0 to Manchester City in the Premier League opener last Sunday. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Levi Colwill has been placed on the club’s B-list for the upcoming match, which will commence at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
