Veteran Broadcast Journalist Aisha Bello Mustapha Passes Away

Aisha Bello Mustapha, the esteemed news anchor of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), has sadly passed away. The news of her demise emerged in the early hours of Monday, revealing that the veteran broadcaster succumbed to a brief illness in Abuja.

A familiar face on local television networks throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Aisha Bello Mustapha left an indelible mark on the broadcasting landscape. Zainab Sabo, a family friend, confirmed the news and stated that the late journalist would be laid to rest later in the day following Islamic rites.

“The funeral prayer will take place at Abuja Central Mosque on Monday. Mama (Aisha) is indeed dead, and we are going to miss her, and we pray God bless her soul,” shared Zainab with BBC Pidgin.

As of now, the specific details regarding the cause of her death remain undisclosed. Aisha Bello Mustapha retired from active service in May 2022, concluding a remarkable 35-year career in the broadcast industry. Her contributions and impact in the field are remembered with gratitude.
