Veteran Journalist Jacob Zango Passes Away: SWAN Mourns

 

Jacob Zango, a respected veteran journalist, has passed away in Kaduna after a brief illness. His death has deeply affected the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter.

In a statement issued by SWAN Kaduna Secretary Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson and released on Friday, SWAN Kaduna Chairman Shehu Abdullahi expressed his profound shock and sadness over Zango’s passing. Abdullahi noted his close personal and professional relationship with Zango, describing him as not just a colleague but a brother.

The statement highlighted Zango’s significant contributions to SWAN and his role at Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). His passing comes at a time when his extensive experience and insight are sorely needed by the organization.

SWAN extended heartfelt condolences to Zango’s immediate family, KSMC, the Atyap community, the Kaduna State Government, and all his friends and colleagues. The organization prayed for Zango’s soul to rest in peace and honored his memory with a tribute to his impact and legacy in journalism.
