Adeniyi Adekalu, head coach of Sunshine Spikers volleyball club of Akure, says the team is targeting to be has among the best clubs in 2020 Premier League season.
Sunshine Spikers gained promotion to the premier league after winning the the division one men volleyball league in 2019.
Adekalu said they intend to remain in the premier league and are ready for the season.“We worked hard in the division one last year to regain our place in the league.
We will continue to work, we will not relent in the fight because we have a target to retain our position in the premier.
“We will fight to win every of our games which is also the same desire of every coach, but we will stand out in our games, we are not threatened by any club,” he said.
The coach said the club has recruited new players and are grooming young players to strengthen the squad.
“We have a total of 15 players; we have been training everyday even though the federation has not announced date for the commencement of the league.
“We are equally preparing for the 2020 National Sports Festival in Edo. We won the last edition in Abuja.
We will work hard to maintain our position in the festival,” Adekalu said.
Ondo state won the volleyball competition at the 2018 National Sports Festival held in Abuja. (NAN)
