The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu has said the construction of the Waru / Yimitu community roads will boost agriculture and development at the grassroots level.
Maikalangu said this on Tuesday during the ground – breaking ceremony for the construction and rehabilitation of Waru/ Yimitu Township roads.
The AMAC Chairman stated that the construction of these roads is a fulfillment of his administration’s revolutionary commitment to boost the infrastructural development in rural communities.
He said,” Today’s groundbreaking ceremony showcases the importance of infrastructure in driving economic progress and ensuring the well-being of the people.”
“The groundbreaking of Waru/Yimitu road projects represents a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and promote economic prosperity in AMAC communities.”
According to Maikalangu, the construction of roads in the Council is urban renewal in communities, encouraging agricultural activities and boost food security while strengthening the security framework for the overall growth and development of the Council.
He noted that the provision of infrastructure by his administration is not a luxury, rather it is a fulfillment of its mandate to ensure that they enjoy the dividends of democracy, and feel the impact of good governance in the communities, which will in turn motivate residents to contribute their own civic responsibilities.
The Chairman further urged all beneficial residents of the road projects, to adopt a maintenance culture so that the road will last longer and serve the purpose it is meant for.
“And I urge you to be our eyes here in your community and guard public infrastructure provided by the government jealously”, he advised.
