We must put Nigeria first – Otunba Runsewe

The Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, NCAC, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has appealed to Nigerians to put Nigeria first in all their endeavors.

Runsewe made this call today in Abuja, at a One Day Programme with the theme, #puttingnigeriafirst organized by the NCAC.

Runsewe who is also the President World Crafts Council of African Region said that #puttingnigeriafirst Programme is now expedient because it is a strategic response to the sociopolitical situations of the moment and the need to arrest the pervading hostility in our sociopolitical space and draw attention to the need to put Nigeria first in we do as citizens.

He stressed, ” We must believe and have faith in the Nigerian project, we must all be patriotically committed to national development, we must all rise beyond the narrow confined of individualistic concern , ethnicity, religion and political cleavages. In other words , We must Put Nigeria First.”

Otunba Runsewe said, ” Enough of hate speech, destructive criticism , unhealthy grandstanding along political parties, ethnic and religious background.

“I appeal to Nigerians that the elections are now over, if anyone is aggrieved, they can go to court. We cannot afford to wait, Nigeria must move forward.
” That’s why we drew up this programme for the reawakening of Nigerians. That the task to putting Nigeria forward lies on all of us. Today is a day for a new revolution to put Nigeria first before anything.”

He enjoined Nigerians to embrace the #puttingnigeriafirst Programme and think creatively that will make the nation overcome economic challenges in the canker worm of corruption and economic crimes.

According to the NACA DG, to make Nigerian great is a task that must be done, a task for all Nigerians irrespective of place , circumstances of birth, religion, or creed.

He appealed to Nigerians ,the political elite , religious and traditional leaders to join hands with the new administration to reposition the nation for sustainable peace, and socio-economic development.
