We`ll prioritise your security, welfare —DG NYSC assures corps members

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, has assured that security and welfare of corps members remain top priority of the President Ahmed Tinubu Administration.

Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, made government’s position known during a familiarisation visit on Thursday to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp,Boro Town, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

He commended the corps members for high level of discipline in the camp and urged them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the scheme.

Speaking on the importance of the NYSC SAED programme, the DG encouraged them to key into SAED, which is aimed at making them to be self reliant and future employers of labour.

Ahmed, also charged them to take responsibility of their personal security by being vigilant at all time and also read the security tips booklet given to them, while cautioning them to avoid posting NYSC activities on social media.

DG admonished corps members to desist from needless adventures and night journeys due to dangers on the road.

Earlier, the State Coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, briefed the Director General on camp situation and said that the corps members have adjusted to camp regimented lifestyle and have shown high level of discipline and actively participating in all camp activities.

She also informed that camp officials have sustained use of emotional intelligence in inter personal relationships on duty.
