Woman Found Dead in Lagos Hotel; Boyfriend Missing, Hotel Owner Arrested

In a tragic incident at a hotel in Morogbo, Badagry, Lagos State, an unidentified adult female was discovered dead, sparking an investigation as her male companion has gone missing.

The incident occurred on Friday, November 31, when the deceased and her partner checked into the hotel for a brief stay. According to reports, the couple arrived in the morning, made their payment, and obtained a room key.

Several hours later, as the hotel receptionist prepared to allocate the room to another guest, it was discovered that the room was locked. Concerned, the staff used a spare key to enter, only to find the lifeless body of the woman lying naked on the bed. Disturbingly, her clothes and phone were missing.

A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared details of the incident. The hotel workers, unable to locate the male guest, initiated a search. Unfortunately, as the receptionist had not recorded their details upon arrival, efforts to trace him were in vain.

The hotel owner was promptly informed, and together with the staff, they sought the missing man. The situation led to reporting the case to the police that same night. Authorities arrived, documented the scene, and took custody of the deceased’s body. Complicating matters, the hotel lacked CCTV cameras, hindering investigative efforts.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the tragic incident. He disclosed that the deceased’s body had been deposited in the morgue, and both the hotel owner and receptionist were arrested. The case is now set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
